Kevlex Xtreme Barbel 12ft 1.50/1.75lb

Ref: SARD001

Price: £149.99 / $224.99

Kevlex Xtreme Barbel

During development and field testing, we rapidly came to the conclusion that this rod was ‘the complete’ Barbel rod, a true ‘One Rod’ does it all!

Supplied with three top sections comprising of a 1.50lb and a 1.75 lb solid top along with a 1.75 lb Quiver Tip which accepts one of the five interchangeable Quivers supplied with it!

The two solid tips allow you to fish a variety of methods on a whole range of various rivers. Whether you are fishing rolling meat on the Avon with braid, casting a big heavy feeder across the Severn or Trent or fishing a delicate particle rig down the edge of the Kennet, these two tips will comprehensively cover all the disciplines.

The third quiver tip section will then expand your options further. Many swims dictate that you have to fish upstream to hit the hotspots. Invariably this means drop back bites which are difficult to spot on solid tips. However by selecting a suitable quiver you can gently pull the tip against the lead to create a bow which immediately springs back to register the bite. Unlike a solid tip the quiver will not move the lead as you tighten into it.

These quivers will also help you cope with floating weed and debris during the Autumn as well as soaking up the swirling current during times of flood in the winter. Furthermoreusing a quiver tip that absorbs the effect of varying currents of debris on the line will allow for a much better presentation on your rig. Each tip has a progressive action that doesn’t bottom out, yet they remain extremely forgiving so greatly reducing any chance of premature hook pulling.

Big leads and heavy lines in snaggy and weedy swims are ideal bedfellows for the ‘TXS’.

The brute power of big doubles are easily tamed with this specialist tool. The progressive action has a huge amount of backbone that will stop those big whiskers in their tracks.

As well as the smaller southern rivers the ‘TXS’ nicely doubles up as a big feeder rod on the wider and deeper stretches on rivers like the Severn and the Trent.

The solid 1.75 lb tip is forgiving enough to use with the latest trend towards braided lines which has become the vogue method for heavy semi fixed lead pellet and particle fishing on many of the tough southern rivers.

Fishing with braid is also ideal for rolling meat and touch legering in flood and heavy water conditions. The interchangeable quiver tip section gives you free variables which is perfect for upstream work to highlight drop back bites. A serious rod for serious fish.

Duo-Lite Avon 12ft

Duo-Lite Avon 12ft

Ref: SARD015

Price: £99.99 / $149.99

Duo-Lite Avon

Designed for traditional Avon style fishing in mind where chub and barbel are being targeted this twin tip Duo-Lite Avon is supplied with a 1 lb solid tip and a ¾ lb quiver tip which accepts four interchangeable quivers. These interchangeable tips allow you to match the test curve to achieve maximum bite detection depending upon the swim you are fishing and the mood of the fish.

Often small river chubbing can vary to rod wrenching takes through to the tiniest tremor on a delicate tip. The beauty of the Duo-Lite Avon is that it comprehensively copes with a wide variety of methods. In fact everything from free lining floating breadcrust through to rolling meat, trotting maggots and even static feeder and leger fishing.

Although this is not a specialist barbel rod it will easily handle medium sized fish in snaggy swims and with care even extracts much larger doubles from clearer swims.

We all know how tricky big winter roach can be and using the lightest glass quiver you will be able to detect the slightest of bites from huge winter red fins.

The Duo-Lite Avon also makes a brilliant stillwater rod for both leger and feeder work whilst targeting tench and bream and is equally at home fishing for big perch with worms and small livebaits.

This has to be one of the most versatile rods around actually belying the Avon badge on which it is proudly based.

Duo-Lite Extreme Barbel 15ft - 2.75lb

Duo-Lite Extreme Barbel 15ft - 2.75lb

Ref: SARD022

Price: £149.99 / $224.99

Duo-Lite Extreme Barbel

This is the first 15’ barbel rod to be specifically designed for wide and tidal rivers. The very special blank has a unique design to allow you to get the maximum amount of line above the surface of the river. Many of our wide and tidal rivers have an extremely heavy current running through the centre and it’s important to get the rod tip as high as possible so that the rig isn’t constantly being dragged out of position.

Supplied with both a solid 2 ¾ lb top section and a 2 ¾ lb quiver section which features four interchangeable tips. The two softer glass ones are rated at 4 and 6 oz whilst the two stiffer carbon models are rated at 4 and 7 oz.

The Extreme Barbel will cope with the biggest feeders and the largest legerweights that are needed for this specialist style of fishing. It’s not unusual to use up to 8 oz in many circumstances which is essential to hold station in these big and powerful rivers.

As well as coping with the heavyweights the Extreme Barbel is also a great caster as you may well find yourself fishing 80 yards across to the far bank. Although the blank has bags of power to cope with these adverse conditions the tips themselves are surprisingly forgiving and will act as a brilliant built in shock absorber ensuring that you don’t straighten or pull smaller hooks or crack off final hook links.

Although most of this style of fishing will be conducted across and slightly downstream which is ideally suited for the solid tip you will often be confronted with having to fish upstream a situation where the interchangeable quiver tips come into their own. You can select just the right amount of power not only to tension against the legerweight without dislodging it but also absorb the fluctuating currents and cope with much of the debris that is associated with tidal rivers.

Ref: SARD003

Price: £99.99 / $149.99

Kelvex XT Barbel Float

The ultimate workhorse when it comes to float fishing for Barbel. Although it’s a powerful tool man enough to keep good doubles under control, it hasn’t lost any of the finesse that is required for delicate float presentation.

Designed to provide maximum versatility, this rod is ideally suited for trotting big ‘chubbers’ and ‘loafers’ down streamy, weedy glides on rivers like the Avon and the Stour where the speed of the line pick up ensures that even finicky bites are not missed at long range when searching the far end of the swim.

The Kevlex XT Barbel Float 13’ is perfect for using large bait droppers in combination with your float rig. This is a real plus when trotting a swim whilst wading allowing for bait and dropper to be stored in a neck bag for instant use without the need for a second heavier rod. Although originally designed for Barbel fishing many anglers will find this rod is the perfect tool for a spot of heavy duty Tench fishing, alternatively it is also well suited for putting big weights together on the increasing amount of carp bagging pools.

Although powerful it’s also feather light and can be held comfortably all day whether trotting the stream or bagging carp!

Price: £129.99 / $194.99

Duo-Lite Floodwater Barbel

This is the first barbel rod to be specifically designed for floodwater fishing. The very unique blank will cope with just about every situation you are likely to encounter during times of flood on both large and small rivers. It also doubles up as a perfect hit and hold rod for snag fishing where heavy lines and strong hooks are needed.

It is supplied with both a solid and a push in quiver tip rated at 2 ¾ lb. The interchangeable tips are rated at 4 and 6 oz for the softer glass versions and 5 and 7 oz for the stiffer carbon versions. The Floodwater Barbel has stacks of hidden power allowing you to easily use massive feeders and heavy legerweights up to about 6 oz. Some of the biggest barbel have been caught in these tricky floodwater conditions but to be successful it is imperative that you have the right rod for the job.

Although there is an amazing amount of power to cope with big leads and feeders the tips are surprisingly forgiving and actually act as a built in shock absorber so that you don’t straighten or pull some of the smaller hooks.

Whilst most floodwater fishing is conducted downstream which is perfect for the solid tip the quiver tip really comes into its own when you are fishing upstream. The selection of interchangeable tips allow you to use just the right power to tension against the rig without dislodging it. These tips also absorb fluctuating currents and cushion much of the debris that is being brought down on the rising river.

So whether you are fishing in snags with heavy tackle or with huge leads in heavy water conditions the Barbel Floodwater will allow you to easily extract those big doubles from their hidey holes.

Duo-Lite Barbel

This is a delightful all round barbel rod to cover most of your leger and feeder work on both small and medium sized rivers. It is supplied with both a solid and push in quiver tip rated at 1 1/2 lb. The Barbel Duo-Lite has been designed to fish with feeders and legerweights up to 3 oz in weight and hook links as low as 4 lb breaking strains. Both tips are forgiving allowing you to use hooks down to about size 16 without fear of straightening or pulling. This is the perfect rod for pellet, boilie, particle and maggot work on rivers like the Avon, Stour, Kennet, Teme and even the Upper Severn.

The action is such that there is loads of hidden power to keep big fish under control whilst at the same time you have the assurance that you don’t get smashed on small hooks and light links. The solid tip is just perfect for the traditional downstream work whilst the quiver tip section and its interchangeable tips are ideal for detecting upstream dropbacks as well as absorbing fluctuating currents and debris to ensure that the rig isn’t dislodged.

Duo-Lite Specialist 12ft

Duo-Lite Specialist 12ft

Ref: SARD014

Price: £89.99 / $134.99

Duo-Lite Specialist

Specifically designed for targeting specimen roach, rudd and perch in both still and running waters the Duo-Lite Specialist comes complete with two top sections. A solid ½ lb tip as well as a l/2 lb quiver section accepting four interchangeable quiver tips. These tips range between ½ oz and 1 oz allowing the angler to highlight even the most delicate of bites from shy feeding specimen roach and perch.

The solid tip is ideally suited for light line leger work with both small leads and feeders. Leads of up to 1 oz can be cast a considerable distance whilst feeders up to about 2 oz can be lobbed across most small rivers. Large chub can also be attacked with this delightful rod especially in clear low water conditions where fine high tech lines and small hooks are needed to guarantee success.

Both the tips are amazingly forgiving acting as the ultimate shock absorber when using very low diameter high tech lines down to 1 ½ lb breaking strain. These are matched with tiny hooks often as low as a 20 yet there is little chance of a premature breakage or a pulling of the hook with these finite tips. At the same time whilst the tips are forgiving the middle through to the butt contains a considerable amount of hidden power allowing you to really pile the pressure with heavier lines up to 6 lb to stop your specimen heading for the snags.

One of the most delightful rods you are ever likely to use when it comes to the actual fishing and playing of fish.

Duo-Lite Specialist Float 13ft

Price: £99.99 / $149.99

Duo-Lite Specialist Float

This has to be one of the most versatile all round float rods for targeting specimen fish that is available today. Ideally suited for both still and running waters, this rod has been specifically designed for targeting big tench, bream, chub and barbel with a delicate presentation. Although its action is very crisp it is amazingly forgiving ensuring that it is extremely safe when handling large fish on light lines and small hooks.

For stillwater work large loaded wagglers can be punched out further than ever against strong headwinds on reasonably light line. It is also ideal for fishing down the edge with a top and bottom set up where maximum pressure needs to be applied to stop runaway tench from getting to the snags.

The Specialist Float really comes into its own for long trotting as it has an incredible line pick up at range but the tip still absorbs that initial contact shock with a big fish. There will be times when you need to fish against the far bank for chub where feeding the ‘bow’ is essential for perfect presentation. The incredible line pick up guarantees that you will miss very few bites.

The Specialist Float is a very light rod and can be comfortably held all day whilst utilising both centrepin and fixed spool. It is simply a delightful rod to use.
